Accessibility Research

Our Senior Consultant Stuart Rudd is passionate about accessibility and raising awareness of the barriers faced by computer users with disabilities.

If you are colour-blind, visually impaired, deaf, have dyslexia, arthritis, or motor difficulties such as cerebral palsy, Stuart would like to hear how you have coped with accessibility issues.

The study relates primarily to IT but Stuart would welcome more general comments.

The IT industry has been slow to respond to the Disability Discrimination Act, which makes it unlawful for a web site to remain inaccessible to those with disabilities.

We hope that this study will both raise awareness and generate further information.

Physical Security Industry Research

The Physical Security Industry is converging with the IT industry and those who acknowledge this convergence and establish collaborative working practices will survive and those that do not will not progress their businesses.

The Physical Security Industry is using tried, documented, tested technologies such as TCP IP and CAT 5 / 6 cabling installations, that the computer industry have been using for a long while.

There is therefore an influx of Computer Engineers, IT Companies that are entering the physical security industry with exceptional knowledge of TCP IP and CAT 5 / 6 cabling installations But without any real knowledge of the Physical Security Industry.

On the same token their are a select few Physical Security companies embarking on the installation of IP products without the full knowledge of TCP IP.

We have reviewed the requirement for training, we feel there is a training short fall for Physical Security Industry sales, consultants, engineers and support personnel.

We have reviewed the courses available in the market place, and they are either insulting in terms of teaching you what you already know, or they are more IT based, and go over the delegates head.

We would like to develop course materials that enable the Physical Security Industry to embark upon the installation of IP products with confidence. Confidence to discuss the installation with the in house IT manager, be able to understand the IT managers concerns, be able to suggest proactive solutions to IT problems caused by your integration, allow you to integrate seamlessly in to the IT infrastructure.
